It was organized on Saturday morning, in the region of Biza, the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) of "Joint Effort 16" Exercise, with Military Police in encampment. The event was attended by Defence Deputy Minister Mr. Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, Air Force Commander, Brigadier General Vladimir Avdiaj, senior officers of the Armed Forces, as well as other guests.
The main purpose of this exercise, which began on 9 July 2016, was the harmonization and performance of Military Police tasks in action; the interaction during situation of danger, the enhancement of professional and personal skills for fulfillment of operational tasks, as well as the contribution to AAF engagement in Civil Emergency operations and humanitarian crisis.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Jeronim Bazo, welcomed a New Jersey National Guard delegation headed by the New Jersey National Guard Commander, Brigadier General Michael Cunniff.
During this meeting it was highlighted the military cooperation within the Partnership Program between Albania and the New Jersey National Guard, which began in 1993. Major General Bazo stressed the importance of this cooperation, which, although in bilateral format, has contributed immensely in the transformation of the Albanian Armed Forces. "During these two decades of collaboration, the military members of both countries have been side by side, not only in training and exercises but also in operations, which culminated in the deploying five Joint OMLT Contingents on a mission to train the Afghan National Army", accentuated Maj. Gen. Bazo.
